ilia Osokin is a multi-instrumental composer working between Marseille and Berlin. After a first career as a cellist in Russia and the United States, and training in music theory and conducting in France, he turned fully towards composition. He seeks to express with the greatest creative freedom, his eclectic universe, whether it is explored in his works with classical and hybrid instruments or with modular synthesizers.

His curiosity pushes him to go beyond the boundaries of different musical systems. Since the year 2020, he has been developing an innovative form of musical writing. He works towards a transformation of the composition process by developing non-linear music inspired by the organic world. This work is carried out in collaboration with electronic engineers and biophysics researchers in France and Germany.

Independently of this research, he also works in the field of “cinemusic”, where history is shown through sounds. His own style of musical composition takes us on a journey where Electro, Neoclassical and Ambient sounds intersect in reference to Alva Noto, Biosphere, Tangerine Dream or even Ryuichi Sakamoto.

He also composes for performances by visual artists, advertising videos, choreographic pieces and graphic novels. In the summer of 2021 the Grimaldi Forum hosted his musical creation on the occasion of a ballet choreographed by Mimoza Koike for Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo.

In February 2022 an original "1984" soundtrack for a comic strip by Xavier Coste was published by Cristal Publishing and released on the BOriginal label. Thus marking the beginning of his collaborations for the sound books.

In April 2022, a quadraphonic sound installation was created for the Palais de Tokyo during an exhibition "Les Aubes Chimeriques" by Eva Medin. The month of May is also marked by musical creation for a show by Thierry Thieû Niang, Marie Vialle and Jimmy Boury - "C'est Tout!" at the Theater National Populaire in Lyon, Villeurbanne and MC93 in Bobigny.

From September 2022 and for a minimum of 6 months, he will be in composition residency in the Harbour workshops in Monaco. A research and artistic creation program of the Department of Cultural Affairs of Monaco.

In October 2022 his work for the soundtrack "1984" was staged in an immersive show by the production studio  19 boulevard Bouillon in a beautiful Princess Grace theater in Monaco.
